This project was a delightful exploration into poster design, particularly focusing on typography-based posters. Using only one word and colour posed a challenge, and after careful research, I settled on yellow to represent curiosity and discovery. The word "discover" was chosen to reflect the perpetual process of discovery and evolution inherent in graphic design. This project encapsulated the joy of constantly learning and adapting to new trends and technologies, a core aspect of the graphic design profession.
What made this project particularly enjoyable was the integration of my own photography, giving me full control over the poster's outcome. This decision aligned with the theme of discovery, as photography, like painting or drawing, offers a unique perspective that fosters creativity. The typography, initially a typeface, was hand-rendered to match the handmade aesthetic of the poster. Experimenting with different writing tools and digital brushes added depth to the concept of discovery and exploration.
The process of creating this poster not only resulted in a visually appealing design but also taught valuable lessons about creative breakthroughs. The quote used on the poster serves as a reminder that creative blocks can lead to renewed inspiration and enhanced creativity. Taking breaks, doodling, or engaging in other creative activities outside the project space was essential in maintaining creativity and finding fresh perspectives. Ultimately, the project's completion, from handwriting to photography, was deeply rewarding, showcasing the journey of discovery and creativity.
