The Springtide project aims to establish a European-style café with a relaxed, bohemian ambiance, offering high-quality organic and fair-trade coffee, tea, pastries, sandwiches, salads, soups, and more. Inspired by small-town eclectic cafes with vintage decor, the café emphasizes ethical sourcing and local community support. The lightning bolt-centered logo symbolizes energy, creativity, and boldness, complemented by a colour palette of blue and yellow that reflects the café's theme and target audience, striking a balance between calmness and vibrancy.
Initially a menu project with a logo design, the scope expanded to include a comprehensive brand identity, featuring a style sheet and designs for various materials such as coffee cups, bean bags, business cards, and loyalty cards, alongside menu updates. The challenge of maintaining coherence across designs while incorporating the lightning bolt motif, originally from the café's previous iteration as Iconoclast, was successfully navigated, resulting in a cohesive and visually appealing brand representation. The desire to further develop the project with a mobile menu design and social media content highlights a commitment to showcasing a thorough and extensive portfolio piece.
